(Press Release) - BERLIN, N.J. -- For the last two years, Nogi Bear
Grappling Leagues has brought the big "Pro Fight Night" feel to
submission grappling with their PGL events, hosted in Southern New
Jersey. They attract some of the best in MMA, BJJ and Catch
Wrestling, from all over the east coast, to compete and showcase
their ground game in a regulation ring...but on May 17th, the best
event, YET, is about to take place, and it will be available on Go
Fight Live Pay-Per-View! (GFL.TV)
Hosted by well-known celebrity medium, Marisa Liza Pell, the first super bout of the night was originally slated to be the first Grudge Match Title Fight, ever, in the promotion; One fighter coached by a former PGL competitor versus another. Sperrazza, PGL's current ring announcer, stepped up to the challenge against Keith Plute, friend and one-time student of PGL veteran, Dave Clemmens. But what started off as an idea for a Camp Grudge Match turned in to something much greater and more sincere...Both competitors agreed to give their purses to charity and the head of the group, Angiosarcoma Awareness, Lauren Ryan, will be on hand to award the winner and receive the donation, in ring!
The first ever Women's Bantam Tournament will also be taking place
and will surely tear the roof down as some of the best female Pro
Grapplers in the area, like Amanda Leve & Gillian Silver, will vie
for the chance to declare themselves the best on international
pay-per-view.
Also, PGL greats like Mark Tarmann, Norman Schack, Rogelio Soto, Kevin Reed & Gene Berger will be locking it up in Super Fights to declare dominance at PGL's biggest event of the year!
In the Co-Main Events of the night, PGL has set up a spectacle that is sure to be the talk of combat sports, for months to come...Jiu Jitsu World Champion Garry Tonon returns to the PGL ring, after facing the best of the best, around the world, to take on Frankie Patches, along with PGL alumnis, Gordon Ryan & Joe Solecki. Also, UFC Ulitmate Fighter and current Bellator star Dante Rivera comes back to continue his ground game's supreme-reign in the squared circle!
Finally, after years of overcoming adversity and dominating, nationally, Nicholas Caggia came to PGL already the winner of 31 Championship titles. A definitive force in the PGL ring and a role model of heart & dedication, Caggia gets his dream match in the final Main Event of the night, as former UFC Super Weight & Hall of Famer, Dan "The Beast" Severn comes to New Jersey to give Nicholas "The Cult of Personality" Caggia the chance to take on the best "The Beast" has to give and add one helluva a line to his illustrious resume!
Live Music, all night by fight music-favorite, Death Throb, along with food and vendors, THIS IS THE EVENT NOT TO MISS!
