Diabate had been slated to face Swedish muay Thai ace Jorgen Kruth, but “The Last Viking” has reportedly suffered an injury and will be unable to compete, according to Swedish outlet MMANytt.se.
UFC on Fuel TV 2 will be headlined by a pivotal light heavyweight confrontation between Swedish prospect Alexander Gustafsson and hard-hitting American Top Team representative Thiago Silva. The event takes place at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm and airs live on Fuel TV.
DeBlass has yet to taste defeat as a professional. The 29-year-old has fought the entirety of his career inside the ROC cage, capturing the 205-pound title in just his fifth pro contest. The New Jersey native competed three times last year, besting Sean Salmon, Mike Stewart and David Tkeshelashvili before kicking off 2012 with a 41-second submission of Randy Smith on Feb. 10.
Known as “The Snake,” Diabate, 38, is a veteran muay Thai stylist. The Frenchman made his MMA debut in 1999 and competed for Cage Rage, EliteXC and the Pride Fighting Championships before joining the UFC in 2010. Diabate owns a 2-2 Octagon record, most recently submitting to an Anthony Perosh rear-naked choke at UFC 138 this past November.
